double bind

The entire thing disgusts me: The UN didn't do a damn thing for five years - not condemn the Palestinians for kidnapping Shalit, nor trying to get his release. All the UN did was condemn Israel, time after time. Now Israel shows the world that the life of ONE Israeli, ONE Jew, is worth about 1100 Palestinian criminals. And worse yet, these released vermon pridefully boast that they will do it all again and encourage the kidnapping and killing of more Jews and Israelis.

To make matters even worse, the Red Cross (and we all know how much they love Israel), allowing Shalit to be interrogated in Egypt by the media when it's clear he was having extreme anxiety, traumatized, is shameful and outrageous. Let the boy breathe, first. He's been isolated for years, and doesn't look that well, either.

So what has the world learned from all of this? We are still stuck with the question of whether or not to negotiate with terrorists. Speaking for myself, if any one of those released criminals dare to try anything else against Israel, I hope Israel will be merciless with them. I'm very happy Shalit is home with is family, but sickened that criminals run free.
