Obama a Leftist Who Despises the U. S.?

Although I don't always see things the way Pipes does, I've always had the highest regard for his presentation of the facts. If Pipes said it was so, it was so. But no more! "As a leftist [Obama] despises the United States," writes Pipes. Obama a leftist? LOL. Obama is certainly left of Pipes, but that doesn't say much since millions of people in the U. S. are. Worse and ridiculous is the assertion that Obama despises the U. S. I acknowledge that some leftists do hold the U. S. in contempt, but to include Obama among them is preposterous. Nor will it do to argue that Obama's leftism is moderated by the fact that "as president [he will be] judged by how how well the country fares during his tenure." Were Obama the type of leftist Pipes claims him to be, he wouldn't give a damn about how he will be judged or how the country fares. Rather, he would care only to disable the U. S. and sink it as a capitalist enemy. Pipes errs badly this time.
