What's in a name?

There are four references in the Scriptures regarding a region on the west coast of Canaan, that region being called Palestine or Palestina or Philistia. (Exodus 15:14, Isaiah 14:29, Isaiah 14:31 and Joel 3:4) The prophetic books of the Bible, Isaiah through Malachi, are somewhat difficult to decipher and are the subject of controversy among scholars. However, it seems this region will be "dissolved" in the future (Isaiah 14:31). Even only four mentions of Palestine gives credence to the fact of its existence, but a Palestinian people, as a separate identity, is not mentioned.
