Interesting comments ToveyReader comment on item: Iranians ♥ America, But ... Submitted by AAA (India), Jun 24, 2012 at 14:07 Thanks Tovey. Yours is the only sane voice I could hear in an ocean of insane rantings. I found your comments interesting. Please believe me that majority of the Muslims (at least the one's whom I have known and interacted with) are as secular and moderate as the West would like them to be, regardless of their religious leaders. Its true that religious leaders want common people to become fanatics, but this phenomenon is not unique to Islam alone. Its true that there are religious fundamentalists among Christians, Jews, Hindus and other religions. But they are not viewed from a religious angle. Another factor which is specific to Muslims and which helps their religious leaders to (at least try to) have a grip on ordinary Muslims is the persecution of Muslims (e.g. attack on Iraq on the basis of false propaganda, Abu Ghraib prison atrocities, Guantanamo Bay, drone attacks, threats to Iran). The West should look into these aspects instead of labeling all Muslims as terrorists. There is need to discuss things objectively and sincerely and try to resolve differences and not get involved in accusations and counter-accusations. I hope you will read my comment positively and not respond in a negative way. Thanks. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
