I'll believe it when I see itReader comment on item: Iranians ♥ America, But ... Submitted by Peter Herz (Taiwan), Jun 28, 2012 at 01:56 Maybe a lot of grass-roots Iranians love the USA (maybe they knew more about what the score really was back in 1953 than the bulk of intellectuals? Just a thought); but I'm still for keeping out of Iran's affairs, and still unwilling to back a war against Iran (unless, or course, they hit us or an ally first). It's a country where the alternatives seem to be either the mullah-ocracy or the Mojahaddni-e-Khalq ("first revolutionary fighters into the 'Nest of Spies'!" back in 1979), both of which hate the USA with every fiber of their being. Let Iran follow its own trajectory. Remove from them any excuse for the regimes failures. Who knows? Maybe the USA will return an embassy to a very different Iran. But, please, let the Iranian people make their own call. We've made enough enemies trying to save a very foolish world from its numerous follies, whether Marxist-Leninist or Islamic.
