All that aside, Abdo had set a major precedentReader comment on item: Nasser Abdo: The Full Story Submitted by sara (United States), Aug 22, 2012 at 17:16 I believe that Abdo, either as an individual or with coaching, intentionally enlisted in order to claim the status of conscientious objector on the basis of his being a Muslim. The fact that he won that status is the real jaw dropper here. The military should not have given it to him for all of the reasons you state. Whether he then was angry about the porn discovery or it was a plan all along, we will not know, but the fact remains here that there are occasions when being Muslim is not compatible with being in the military.
