Related to----Reader comment on item: Palgrave Macmillan Participates in "Israel Apartheid Week" Submitted by john w. mcginley (United States), Mar 12, 2013 at 16:59 I do not have anything specific to say about the rather circumscribed matter which you posted. But the larger issue -- perception that Israel is an Apartheid State. It is a growing concern. The comparison to the Union of South Africa of several decades ago is unfair. I, ultimately, believe that Israe should stand firm. There really are powerful elements in the world which would celebrate a planet without Jews. So whatever I say below, I believe Israel should stand still. ((I myself have a special desire that Hebron be officially integrated into the State of Israel. God-Willing.)) All that being said, I saw a disturbing movie about nine days ago. Right now I can't call up the title. I suspect you have heard about it. It's in Hebrew with written translations at the bottom. It delineates the Israeli/Palestinian matter from 1967 onward. It was not exactly a movie. It was a cleverly orchestrated and extended interview with the six last Shin Bet heads in Israel. It seems to me that there is no resolution. And I do not like the fact that many Palestinians in the Occupied Territories suffer mightily in this situation. If you have seen the film (or arrange to see it) I for one would be very glad to hear your thoughts on it. Obviously life is not black and white. Grey prevails.
