Iraq-What Did WorkReader comment on item: Reflections on the Invasion of Iraq Submitted by John R Peacher (United States), Mar 18, 2013 at 20:31 We developed and enhanced the drone program as a result of the war in Iraq. Our involvement brought out thousands of Islamists fighters from over the world. We were able to identify the groups that sent them and the organizations that were training them in terror. Their training sites were exposed and many were destroyed as a result of the war. We learned how to enhance the protection of our troops from I.E.D.'s and other explosive devices and learned the technology that is being used to develop them. Yes, much blood and treasure was spent. But much was learned. We must not bloody ourselves too much over the issue. The world does know that when we decide to do something to meet a challenge, we are more than able to get the job done.
