Islamism could winReader comment on item: Erdoğan's Decade as Prime Minister of Turkey Submitted by myth (Germany), Mar 20, 2013 at 09:34 Erdogan not only shines with success. He represents the dedicated type of politician. Islamism displays ambition to change and shape society and so does Erdogan. The EU has given up on any such ambition. Politics are reduced to the rule of numbers. The only vision for the future is to comlpy with the 3% Maastricht-treaty limit on government spending. Economy has long replaced the word society in the headlines. No-alternative slogans replace political arguments. Flesh and blood went out of policy making. Because of his bold approach, with flesh and blood, Erdogan is so dangerous. Islamism could win even in the EU. Today it follows the tracks vacated by traditional social democratic movement, but walking with ruthlessness of the extreme right toward a grim future.
