meaning of an apology

Dear Eve, you can be sure that an apology means to us exactly what it means to you.

We just would prefer it more if this apology has come out of sincere humanitarian regret rather than political necessities.

1. Turkey and Israel at that time were close allies.

2. Turkey and Israel was not at war at that time.

3. Yes these individuals were islamists but hey in a democratic country people can be anything they like. we have atheists and islamist extremists. People's political choices can not be questioned and their right to protest can not be banned. I am an atheist by the way.

4. These individuals were not armed. Do not give me a [bs] about the sticks and iron bars in their hands. Any person who sees some foes coming close puts his/her hand to the closest wood or metalic object nearby to protect himself. They did not have any shotguns, rifles, bombs etc.

5. These people have been killed in "international waters" by "commandos armed with machine guns and automatic rifles"

6. It is obvious that the intention of the Israeli soldiers was never to arrest or pacify them but rather kill them directly as many of them were shot at a close distance from their backs and from their heads with multiple shots. Here in Turkey when the police meets some law breakers here we teach the police to shoot at non lethal parts like foot and knees to pacify them. Go read your own reports about the incident.

7. The ship could have been easily stopped without boarding on it by some simple attack on its engines or propellers. That would simply suffice.

8. You, more than all other nations on earth, who suffered a lot in near history because of your religion, race and ethnic identity, should know better that in a contemporary world humans should not grow hatred towards others because of religious, ethnic, racial differences.

9. If you want the world opinion to stop seeing you in a negative way, i recommend a very simple solution. Stop killing civilians, especially babies and children.

10. Come to 21. century. Stop thinking with the paradigms and approaches of the 19. century.
