Some additional thoughtsReader comment on item: An Israeli Apology to Turkey Submitted by Alexandros (United Kingdom), Mar 27, 2013 at 08:57 Dear Friend, I absolutely agree with your short analysis. The main problem of Israel's action, in my opinion, is that give great advantage to Turkish politics and neo-Ottoman ambitions. There a lot of things said that Israel will use Turkish airspace to bomb Iran or that Turkey will give it's soil for an attack to Iran or that Turkey will help in the peace process with Palestine. First of all, there is no way that Turkey will allow Israel or US aircrafts to use it's airspace to Bomb Iran, no way, threre is no way that Turkey will attack Iran. The only possibility is that Turkey, through Ozalan might use the PKK influence in Iranian Kurds and cause some serious problem, a problem though which is goin to be more in Turkish benefit than Israel's benefit. As for the Palestinians, Egypt and maybe future Syria, remember this Turkey is going to use it's influence so to deal with Israel and now that they know that Israel has gone backwards once, they will use this pressure at will! Turkey is gaining a very strong position and with the Collaboration of Katar and Saudi Arabia, they intend to create an Islamic Union similar to EU, but instead of EU i think, because of the leadership's belief, is going to be more like a Soviet Union. israel will be absolutely surrounded and unable to react, having to deal with a hostile islamic union, an Islamic Union lead by Turkey letting Israel exist and the Israelites owing their existence to Turkey! Well if that is the future the Israelite leadership has for their country...... In any case, in my mind this neo-Ottoman ambition is absolutely unacceptable, i will always be against it and always weakening up people to fight for their freedom. By the way, this is why i am against Ozalan's behaviour, who abandoned his ideas for independenc for personal interests probably. I think that in his case Thoukididis is most appropriate, " i do not blame those who want to conquer, but those who are ready to be conquered' and this phrase does not apply only to the Kurds, but also to Israel and Greece and Cyprus. After this turn of events with Ozalan, i have appreciated even more the Heroes of the Greek Revolution in 1821, freedom is a difficult path, it is a shame to give it away and a shame to abandon it's dream and hope!
