Prashant,

You are missing my point. I am not implying that Christians also conquered Europe and North and South America through violence. I am only trying to counter Dr. Pipes' claim that Muslims conquered an area from Indonesia to Morocco through violence. How can such a wide area be conquered through violence? Was the local non-muslim population of these areas so powerless and the invading Muslim armies so powerful that the local non-muslims could not resist the Muslims? Why are you twisting things out of context?

Now let me deal with your rhetoric point by point. 1. Past is past but modern day Christians seem to be less obsessed with their religion than modern day Muslims... So you agree that in the past Christians were indeed obsessed with their religion. 2. Even if we grant that Christians did every single bad deed that Muslims did, it will not disprove that Muslims did no bad deeds... So you agree that "Christians did every single bad deed that Muslims did" 3. There are tens of examples around the world where a Muslim place of worship was constructed next to a non-Muslim place of worship... By the same logic its also true that a non-Muslim place of worship was constructed next to a Muslim place of worship. 4. People from Christian background have done significant contribution to secular ethics, science, philosophy, mathematics, art, philanthropy, and morality. The contribution of people of Muslim background is comparatively miniscule.

How conveniently you have forgotten the contribution of Islam and Muslims in various fields of Arts, Science, Mathematics, Literature, etc. Please understand that there is no end to arguments and counter arguments. If you can argue on one point your opponents can argue on ten different points. Please approach Islam with an open and unbiased mind and heart. Your this life and after-life, both, will be filled with happiness. Just take some time off your busy schedule to ponder on the truth of Islam. And for God's sake do not waste your time reading about anti-muslim rhetoric or misdeeds of people who do wrong in the name of Islam. Islam does not condone evil acts by people who claim to be Muslims. They are answerable to God for what they do and you are answerable for what you do.
