Hell, no; we won't go!Reader comment on item: Obama to Save Presidency by Bombing Iran? Round Two Submitted by Kepha Hor (United States), Jun 28, 2013 at 21:40 I have no love at all for the Iranian regime, but if we learned to live with a nuclear-armed Communist China while Mao Zedong was alive (as fanatic, evil, and apocalyptic in his own way as the wildest Iranian mullahs, if not more so), there should be no need for a pre-emptive strike on Iran. We can simply make it clear that should Iran attack either us or our allies (including You-Know-Who), including by proxies such as Hamas or Hezbollah, that we will retaliate in kind (and perhaps even freeze assets of any state that supports Iran). I think that had Ahamadinejad remained in power, even he would've understood that not even the 12th Imam would be able to save him in such a situation. I, for one, would not rally behind this President should war come; and might even elect to risk prison as an objector should we get into a war with Iran. Obama has proven himself a steadfast enemy of the First Amendment when it is used by his domestic non-clients and has made our country look ridiculous by investing its prestige in the Islamicist rebellions so inaptly called the "Arab Spring". Further, my reasons for objecting to war with Iran hinge simply on its being unwinnable, and a potential waste of American treasure (which is radically depleted at this point) and lives. It would be undertaken merely too save a floundering politician who has clearly shown himself unfit for his office, and hence would be manifestly unjust. The best thing conservatives in America could do would be do protest against and expose our growing involvement in Syria, where a the Free Syrian Army has shown itself more than willing to cleanse its areas of the country of Christians and supports mullahs who call the rape of non-Sunnite women legitimate. While the Ba'athis are a despicable group (inspired by European fascism, no less, and long supported by the Communist powers), the Qaida and MB sympathizers who form its opposition are the same folks who brought us 9/11. Indeed, I hope they poke and pry into the Benghazi incident relentlessly, and, if need be, bring Mrs. Clinton back to give us something other than her infamous lies, cries, and alibis.
