What would happen?Reader comment on item: Is Netanyahu Turning Left? Submitted by Gunther H. Sciff (United States), Jul 9, 2013 at 17:34 The question which bothers me the most is: If a two state deal is done, who and what would guarantee Israel's survival. A Palestinian state would have the opportunity to solicit funds and manpower and weapons for an attack to destroy the long hated Jewish State. There is already a possible fifth column in Israel - its Arab citizens. I do not imply that they would help a war against Israel, but it is surely a possibility. Even if an outside nation or nations guarantee the survival of Israel, can it come to the rescue before the Israeli infrastructure is destroyed and its army decimated. It is highly possible in my mind that there are enough Islamists to pose a very real threat if they get the weapons and training. Am I wrong?
