The Janissaries were abducted Christian boys! What a crimeReader comment on item: The Prospect of Kurdistan Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Nov 1, 2013 at 07:37 More Turkish propaganda you might be interested in it have a look http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janissarymuch more complicated than you think. There is nothing complicated here the Turks abducted Christian boys from their parents and converted them to the religion of the Arabs and sent them back to terrorize their own people Amazing barbarism janissaries were not "abducted boys" rather they were "selected boys" collected from their families. Are you for real? How would you feel if let us say the barbarian Turks lost the war against the Byzantine empire and now the Greeks come to your front door and "select" your own son and convert him to Christianity and then send him back to terrorize you? How would you feel? most families were very much willing to give their best sons to the janissary corps as it really offered a bright future for the boys. Would you be happy if the Greeks come and take your son away? Only sick people would be happy to give their sons away. Anyone who dare take away my son is in for a big fight! This must be the Stockholm syndrome enjoy your time reading... I feel sorry for you. I do not think that you are an evil man I just think that Turkey is an evil place where the line of demarcation between reality and fiction just does not seem to exist
