We should start with equality for all women in Islamic Republics."< Indeed very good ideas but... Mark, it doesn't make any difference how educated Muslims are since they cannot go against what is written in Quran - those are Mo/allah's diktats. The penalty for not obeying allah's laws eternal burning in hell!! As for euality for women - just forget it!! Any concept from the West is not going to make inroads in any Muslim country. It is just like taeching them to adopt democracy. we have seen it in Iraq and Afghanistan how well it is working out!! As for cruelty and hypocrisy, that will stay with them forever as it's hallmark of Islam!! Submitting....
