RealityReader comment on item: Can Hezbollah and Hamas Be Democratic? Submitted by Bob (United States), Mar 25, 2005 at 15:33 Dr. Pipes:As you implied, the Islamic terrorists will do anything they can to get themselves into a position where they would be capable of destroying all governments and religions in order to impose their version of Islamic rule world wide. The comments of Pres. Bush and Sec'y Rice, and probably many others in this Republican administration, indicate that they either have their heads in the sky or ostrich-like buried in the sand if they truly believe that these terrorists can become good peaceful citizens if only they could be exposed to the democratic process. The terrorists understand our democratic process sufficiently to use it against us to infiltrate our country to create havoc and murder, and if captured, use our laws to extricate themselves because they are not citizens, therefore our laws do not apply to them. When will our so called leaders learn to differentiate between what they believe and what is really happening in this world?
