Cultural mixture? :: Reader comments at Daniel Pipes

In cases of Turkey and Lebanon distributions are not unimodal but bi-modal. Bi-modal distribution usually occur when population is a mixture of two different cultural fractions. What are they in case of Turkey and Lebanon? Can this be explained by ethnic-religion division, by urban-rural division, or by something else???
