child bride of Mohammad

I personally believe prophet Mohammad by the time he married Aisha he was already sexually bankrupt and this was social as well as political marriage. I would not call him child abuser, because we judge him according to todays standards. it was the custom then and is still common among muslims to get the great prize of virginity by marrying girls at young age. My problem of understanding prophet Mohammad is that Aisha the child bride was his favorite wife then why he married Khadija a lady 15 yeatrs his senior. Someone of understanding pleas help me solve this enigma, but no rubbish e mails thanks
