blocked by whoReader comment on item: Banned in the British Library Submitted by myth (Germany), Apr 9, 2014 at 06:30 I can live with the censorship so long as the censors admit to their activity. The message reads "blocked by our software". That is a lie. The verb to use is "to censor", not "to block". Certainly censorship requires a censor. The software did not block it. Blocked by who? Some individual human with a name and a role within the British Library instructed the software to censor the content. I want to know who. Putting the message's argumentation back on its feet I rephrase: this is "inappropriate" censoring by an individual "catagorised" as -hiding behind anonymity- in order for him or herself to avoid the "public area". A censor "categorised" by "intolerance" toward people who take an interest in "religion" meaning -islam- a word we the censors "filtered" out. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
