STRATEGIC APPRECIATION - 2.0Reader comment on item: The Worrisome Future of Special Operation Forces Submitted by Michael S. (United States), Apr 14, 2014 at 04:41 I am very impressed that, in this age of computerized games that rivet the attention of children but leave their parents and grandparents clueless of what's going on, the special ops people have condescended to explain their mission with a good, old-fashioned board game. It looks something like a cross between Monopoly, Risk and Chutes & Ladders. I couldn't find the location for "Go", but I suppose that was in code. "Just Visiting", of course, is Cuba, and the jail is at Guantanamo Bay. No, I couldn't make heads or tails of it either; and I suspect that nobody in Special Ops, save the one who dreamed the thing up, understands it either. Perhaps the board game came directly from the White House, and represents the Foreign Policy understanding of our President. That would go a long way, to explaining the intricacies of our foreign policy -- or, rather, lack of it. Some day, I'll try to crack the code. I suspect that once I find Boardwalk, the most expensive property, I will not be far from "Go".
