The fate of the Turks in Mosul and a hadith attributed to MuhammadReader comment on item: "Greater Syria" in the News Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 17, 2014 at 07:37 Dr. Pipes The Turks are trying to find a way to save the lives of the Turks that were captured in Mosul by ISIS and they found a hadith where Muhammad said that his followers should not harm the Turks and no I'm not kidding and here is the hadith http://sunnah.com/abudawud/39/12 I also understand that there is no reporting or comments by the Turkish government about the fate of the members of the Turkish consulate in Mosul The above hadith is an example of why the hadith literature is anachronistic after all there were no Turks in the 7th century Middle East but as I expect the members of ISIS are a bunch of illiterates and this hadith might serve the purpose of saving the lives of the Turks in Mosul Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
