Apologists for the MB ,the likes of Shadi Hamid, have no shameReader comment on item: One Year After Morsi, How Goes Egypt? Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jul 4, 2014 at 07:56 Dr. Pipes It is just amazing that the likes of Shadi Hamid of the Brookings institution tells us in his most recent book (which is not worth the money that I paid) that the MB is a democratic movement but their democracy is really an illiberal democracy! In other words he is saying that it would have been OK if the MB and Morsi believed that 60% of the people of Egypt (Copts and women) are second class citizens and that religious minorities will have to pay the mafia tax called al-Jizya and that FGM is fine and dandy and that Morsi should be above the law after all it is an illiberal democracy! If you read his book the only conclusion that you come up with is that if Egyptians are offered free elections then they will vote for Islamic parties (as if we did not know) the rest of the book is pure nonsense The MB had to go because they did not understand the Egyptian identity http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/215023
