Long way to go...Reader comment on item: Surprising Support for Israel, not Hamas Submitted by Eric Claessens (United States), Jul 12, 2014 at 14:41 We still have a long way to go. I will begin to be satisfied when the EU and its leaders show an unequivocal and unconditional support to Israel and begin also to denounce the BDS movement for what it is: an anti-Semitic movement very similar to the NAZI boycott of Jewish businesses in the 30s in Germany. Also Obama needs to be less ambivalent and show forceful support to Israel instead of his wishy-washy attempt to broker a peace between Israel and Hamas. This is pure BS because he cannot legally "speak" to Hamas since it's officially a terrorist organization and by law he is prohibited to negotiate with them. He is just playing his "legacy" card. Eventually the supercheries of Hamas and the (P)alestinians had to come to the surface and be seen for what they are. Just the politically correct crowd needs to face reality and do the right moral and ethical thing: support Israel, the only bastion of democracy in the region and on the front line of a much deeper and wider conflict, the conflict between Western democracies and militant Islam. What is happening right now in Israel, Judea Samaria and Gaza and the rest of the Middle East is only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the surface WWIII awaits us...
