So who died and dubbed Obama the authority on what is and isn't Islam?!

It has been some time since I've actually watched a scripted Obama platitudinous peroration. And what I found most surprising about this one is that he seems to have mastered the arts of:

a) Not holding his nose in the air; and

b) Pretending that he's not reading from a teleprompter (but perhaps teleprompters have improved efficaciousness these days, so as to make their use less conspicuous?!)

But setting aside the above (admittedly trivial) observations on the perorations of The Great One ...

What blew my mind (as the saying goes) was the, well, sheer audacity of his declaration (decree?!) to the effect that ISIS/ISIL is not Islamic.

OTOH, he seems to have rediscovered the word "terrorist" [15 mentions by my count]. This is a word that (to the best of my recollection) has rarely passed his lips (or those of his revolving stable of willing apologists).

Some might conclude that this is Obama's way of distinguishing between the murders committed by ISIS/ISIL and those committed by Hamas and/or the PLO over the years. Not to mention those infamous murders committed at Fort Hood by Nidal Malik Hasan (Nov. 2009) . But I couldn't possibly comment.

I, for one, also wonder what the hell took him so long to conclude that ISIS/ISIL's activities warrant at least the semblance of planned concerted action on the part of the US. Some might conclude that he might have been motivated by his rapidly declining popularity in recent US polls. But, again, I couldn't possibly comment.
