I don't buy the argument that our leaders are cannily tactful in tiptoeing around such issues as the ideological roots of violence in Islam or the evident connections of various Islamic states with terrorist groups. No, I think it's a case of ignorance and naivete. Even if some officials had formal college courses in Islam-related subjects, they were probably taught by leftist professors worshipping at the altar of multiculturalism and moral equivalence.

On the other hand, the Turks, Qataris and other Muslim leaders are well-versed in their faith, understand taqiyya, or religiously sanctioned deception, and know how to apply it as needed to Western rubes.
