Free Speech to KillReader comment on item: Convicting [Ali al-Timimi,] the "Paintball Sheikh" Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), May 2, 2005 at 23:42 Jihadists use our freedoms to destroy us. According to the leftwing and among some of the liberal establishment that's just fine. Among the Jihadists, where there is no such thing as "free speech" and there will be no such thing as "free speech" if they win, the freedoms they condemn are a windfall for them. The Constitution with all of its protections will be only a memory if they succeed. The government and the courts and the jury in the Timimi case acted with intellligence and wisdom not usually seen lately ... especially in the courts. They indeed dealt a blow to that which is behind every terrorist act perpetrated by the Islamic Jihadists against Israel, against the United States and everywhere else in the world. They are perpetrating the idea that through the annihilation of peoples and countries they will achieve some kind of inhuman elevation to paradise. It's monstrous and those that preach that kind of genocide belong either in front of a firing squad or behind bars in soliltary confinement without access to anyone or anything for rest of their unfortunate lives for all those that were slaughtered. Dr. Pipes did it again. He has been saying for years that terrorism is not the enemy but rather is the tactic of the enemy in the gobal Jihad. He isolated and traced and analyzed that which is behind the Islamic Jihadists and found the idea of genocide and genocide needs a proponent, a speaker ... an idea man. It is a revelation and not a very comfortable one that ideas put into words to organize and carry out the annihilation of people is in and of itself a crime. The mainstream media stayed away because it was a complicated thing that required more than a sound byte and some snappy reparte. I have one comment on the blind shiek Abdel Rahman. Apparently his blindness came from his love of explosives ... he liked to construct them. I guess his ideas found a home in bombs. A very nice pastime for a holy man.
