Islam is not the Problem.Reader comment on item: Convicting [Ali al-Timimi,] the "Paintball Sheikh" Submitted by Hunter (United States), Aug 16, 2006 at 12:26 Islam is not the problem. The problem is oppression. ... is complicated by the absence of democracy in most Muslim countries and the maintenance of poverty. To stop terrorism we need to address the root causes: the middle east conflict the poverty and dictatorships in the Muslim world. The west of course has it share of guilt in helping maintain this toxic condition and has some work to do. One have to understand that even in democratic states, the people are having harder time to control governements plagued by corruptions. The koran, the bible and the new testament all very clearly state that killing innocent people is a mortal sin. We can conclude that islamist terrorists such as ben laden or Zarkaoui are not Muslim. Nor are Bush a real Christian or Sharon a real Jew while they instigate wars on lies and greed that kill many innocent people. You see terrorism never worked and will never work. Why? Because if you kill an inocent bystander to reddress a wrong done by a bad guy the bad guy does not care because he is bad.
