The crown prince of Bahrain is right on this one. The theocratical tyrant derives power by arrogating the right to pronounce final judgment on his fellow human beings. Another words, he instructs God to shut up. This stance gives him the power to inflict great misery on all who disagree. At the present time, Islam is turning out the majority of vicious theocrats. However, all major religions have done so, periodically, in the course of history. We have found no better defence against the meglomanic theocrat than "Freedom of Religion" as a social ideal.
