Images not words Most disturbs IslamistsReader comment on item: Images, not Words, Most Disturb Islamists Submitted by Edmond (Australia), Jan 15, 2015 at 16:09 That is not in the least surprising. It is a well established fact that, in the Arab world (source of the vast majority of Jihadism), 70% and more of the population is either completely illiterate, semi-literate or with a complete absence of critical literacy. Of the remaining lot, one could conclude that significant numbers would either be opposed to them or moderate, would not react violently, or not react at all to written attacks on Islam. Consequently, with very low exposure, the printed word will neither be particularly worrisome to Islamists nor would it attract much of their interest. Moreover, one would think that perhaps the majority of them fall within the 70% group mentioned above. Consequently they would have minimal knowledge of, or exposure to printed material. So how could it possibly disturb them ? They have much bigger fish to fry. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
