What's really wrong with Obama? A hypothesisReader comment on item: Obama's Muslim Childhood Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Feb 10, 2015 at 23:23 With the following play on words deliberately intended, much has been made of Obama's 'infidelity' to our Western ideals -- and in stark contrast to his unflagging fidelity to the tenets of Islam. His impressionable childhood years spent in Muslim Indonesia explain a lot, as does the apparent Islamic background of his father. Yet, given his consistent antithetical stance to our core Jeffersonian values, much remains yet to be explained. Understanding that the idea I'm about to propose is probably entirely wrong, I posit that Barrack Obama never experienced a healthy childhood, nor was he provided a consistently positive male role model. Instead, from an early age, Mr. Obama was shuttled from continent to continent, relationship to relationship, caregiver to caregiver. Thus, the man "in his bones" really doesn't understand right from wrong or good from evil. Drilling down to the core of this idea, perhaps Obama's odd gravitational attraction to the malevolent force of Islam was kindled at a time when he desperately needed what all boys need, i.e. a 'true North' -- something that comes only from a strong male role model, most optimally in the guise of one's father. So I wonder if Mr. Obama derives a certain comfort from an affinity to an ethos diametrically at odds with Western freedom precisely because he craves the sort of strong black lines Islam draws across the entire experience of being a person. II fully realize this is an unusual conjecture. Certainly, I've never seen it expressed anywhere before. And I'm probably far off the mark. But the idea seems worth floating out there at least. Perhaps Dr. Pipes would care to weigh in....? Submitting....
