This has nothing to do with IslamReader comment on item: A Conspiracy Theory Spreads Polio Submitted by Hakan Hekimgil (Turkey), Jun 3, 2005 at 04:40 First, I am deeply terrified by the comments some people wrote. Just because some idiots spread a lie in an African country does not give anyone the right to make such humiliating comments about my religion.Second, you have a subjective perspective in such situations and you show it by the way you use "muslims" and "Islam" in the news. I have never heard the word "christians" or "Christianity" used the same way. Do you ever see articles like this: - "Christians attack abortion clinics on the grounds that it is against god's law" - "Christians priests raped children in churches" Well these are some of the news that you already know (attacks at abortion clinics in US and some isolated cases in some churches) but in a biased way. Not all muslims are the same, as not all christians (or followers of any other religion) are the same. All religions support love instead of hatred. Those who choose hatred (whether in their actions as in Nigeria or in their words as such comments against a religion in this site), choose it by their free will and the fault is theirs, not their religion's. Finally, there is a note underneath the comments section saying "reasoned disagreement is welcome, but not hostile or otherwise objectionable statments". I do not see this happening here as you can see from the "wake up" comment. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
