The recent Turkish electionReader comment on item: Predictions for Turkey's Election Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Nov 3, 2015 at 07:46 Dr Pipes The results of the Turkey election were not surprising in the least. Erdoghan has serious problems and they are 1. The threat to Turkey from Da'ish and I hope he learned that you cannot be friends with terrorists and criminals 2. He only won 50% of votes this means that 50% of voters just don't like him and he has to reach out to them 3. His visceral hate of the Kurds has to end. It was surprising that many Kurds voted for him but I suspect they voted for him in the hope that he will fight Da;ish 4. The economy is his Achilles tendon Yes the per capita income went up from $2000 in 2002 to $11000 today still what goes up could come down 5. The EU? I do believe that after the recent influx of refugees to Europe Europeans will be very wary about adding some 77 million Muslims to the EU Turkey has many challenges but the economy is number one problem
