Military behind the downing of Russian Bomber?

Considering your closing comments, I did wonder whether some in the Turkish Military saw an opportunity to weaken Erdogan's position by shooting down the Russian jet. Seems to me this attack was not really in Erdogan's interests.

Feels to me that some in the military may have decided that this may be an opportunity to put Erdogan under pressure.
