Another strategyReader comment on item: Why the Paris Massacre Will Have Limited Impact Submitted by Demsci (Netherlands), Nov 29, 2015 at 10:04 Jaladhi, I am referring to another strategy against Islam. We know we are in favor of rescuing and even expanding well-functioning democratic countries. Islam is theocratic totalitarian and many Muslims indeed seem intent on establishing theocracy and are indeed hostile to the democratic nations of the world, even if they live in them. You probably know that Dr. Pipes is, how to say it, rejected, reviled by followers of Robert Spencer/ Pamela Geller/ Ali Sina because he contends that "radical Islam is the problem, moderate Islam is the solution". Dr Pipes argues that Islam can be somehow reformed, give different results, has already given different results in history. His counterjihadists contend that no, Islam cannot be reformed in any meaningful way, in any way for many Muslims to cooperate with democratic nations with key democratic tenets and values. Now Sam Harris and Majid Nawaz are trying something like that all the same. IMO it all hinges on the question: Is Islam in it's entirety entirely clear, mono-interpretable? Or has it profound vagueness, multi-interpretability? We know that 99,9 % of Muslims cannot bring themselves to admitting such vagueness, therefore insist Islam is clear. With that clear, now ask why non-believers should feel compelled to insist that Islam is clear? What if a majority of Western Democratic citizens, hence also the media and leaders, agree with DrPipes? And also clearly daresay that Islam just is NOT CLEAR AND DANGEROUS MULTI-INTERPRETABLE, including in a very violent, anti-Democratic way? While the other more peaceful interpretations still are valid?! This could have the advantages: - This could be believed, accepted by a majority of non-believers, in contrast to the position of the counterjihadist, which is not accepted and even resisted tooth and nail by a majority of citizens, media, politicians. Who know too many peaceful muslims and want to protect them and treat them reasonably. - this could be easily confirmed; anyone could see how imperfect Islam is; it itself prohibits already for 1200 years any update in it's core-texts; Quran-Hadiths-Sira. How can anyone even believe such a corpus can BE CLEAR, COMPLETE, MONO-INTERPRETABLE? Any way, in a beautful video David Wood ridicules the very poor communication skills of Allah, as per what Muslims say he really means as opposed to what he says via Islam. - Once unclarity of Islam is mainstream accepted and choice for such an unclear religion is seen as Muslim's responsibility, finally a window opens to put pressure on: Muslims, would-be Muslim immigrants, media, politicians, in all Western countries, including Israel; by saying; because multi-interpretable Islam, is far too often the cause of violence and hostility to democratic nations, we now discriminate on grounds of someone being Muslim or not. Even if a Muslims is peaceful, he/ she still supports too much the bad interpretations of Islam. And that is at this point completely impossible in Western countries, to the detriment of our democratic system, in my opinion. That is my drift.
