Reader comment on item: The Condition of Radical Islam Today
in response to reader comment: What is moderate Muslims?

Hi DNM, you ask what is "moderate" Islam and say defining it is a problem! That says everything. You know what Turkey's president Erdogan has said - there is no moderate Islam or radical Islam, Islam is Islam or something like that. Looks to me one man's moderate Islam maybe other man's radical Islam as you point out about Muslim Brotherhood. When a Muslim says Islam is Islam then who are we to tell him about his own religion - won't you think that he would know his own religion more than we do? The West is creating something that doesn't exists just to be politically correct. They have no gall to point out the truth of what Quran really says about non-Muslims, Christians and Jews, the chief among it is the order to Muslims : " to smite the neck of kafirs when you see them". These are not the exact words from Quran but I am paraphrasing. Is this indicative of peaceful and moderate Islam?

The so called "enlightened" Muslims are one in a thousand or even more, one in a million and you know these guys cannot influence any general public opinion. For that you have to go their mosques and hear what the imams are preaching every Friday evening - they are teaching everything that is in Quran and what do they stress to their captive audience - total denunciation of us kafirs to put it mildly and that is why you see Muslim masses in Islamic countries come out rioting on Fridays after the sermon whenever they find we have said something about Islam that is unpleasant to them. When the Muslim population goes up in the West you will see the same behavior from the Muslims of the West. As the past incidences have shown time and time again education doesn't make any Muslim "moderate" a la West - didn't the Muslim medical doctors in Scotland attack Glasgow airport a few years back and how many "educated" Muslims in USA have carried out terrorist acts? You can count many such incidents all over the world. The leader of 9/11 terror attack on US soil was an engineer with Masters degree. It seems the more educated they are the more radical they become. This should put an end to the idea of a "moderate" Muslim!

Actually, you have proven the point of my earlier comments!!
