I respectfully disagree

I don't agree with your estimation of Donald Trump. Admittedly, I had misgivings about him early on, which is why I voted for Ted Cruz in my state's primary. However, I became quite alarmed when key Republicans became positively rabid toward Trump as soon as they realized he was likely to win the nomination. I concluded that something did not smell right, and the offensive odor was not coming from Trump.

Since that time I have been following Trump very carefully and have come to the following conclusions:

1. Trump is intelligent, confident, persistent, successful, and although he can be abrasive and as much of a narcissist as any politician, he honestly cares about this country and its future. The opposing narcissist only cares about the acquisition of personal power and her own future (rather like the President we will soon be rid of). In addition, Hillary's election would effectively translate into giving her husband a third term in the White House. That, in my opinion, would be courting certain disaster.

2. Now that Trump has clearly won the nomination, I believe that the Republican party will positively implode if its leaders try to take the nomination away from him and/or continually speak against him. Republican voters will rightly feel disenfranchised and betrayed by their own party if that continues. Like you, all too many will leave and become Independents, although not for the same reasons.

3. The United States of America was established by people who weren't afraid to take risks in anticipation of a positive outcome. It seems to me it is time to take a risk again (this time on Trump) rather than submit to the sure thing we'll be saddled with if Hillary is elected.

I'm voting for Trump.
