Manufactured drama

In order to avoid doing real work and getting new stories to report, the news media often manufactures drama in order to beat an old story to death. The news media gets plenty of help from politicians.

Take the Orlando Massacre. Weeks after a Muslim committed an act of terrorism, the news media was still reporting a staged "sit-in" in Congress on gun control. The news media continues to beat this storyline to death. It is an intentional act of diverting our attention away from Islamic terrorism.

So there's a "crisis" in the UK, but everything else seems normal. For political leaders, there is certainly work to do, but that's not a crisis. The "crisis" is merely artificial drama created by a news media that doesn't want to go out and find something new to report.
