Antichrist, elected in 2020?

Hi, Tovey. You said,

I suppose that would be true, if one is inclined to worry about such things. I just pray -- not that bad things won't happen, but that God's people will stand in faith while they're happening. Still, I just flat-out LIKE Donald Trump, because he seems connected to what most Americans are thinking. I like such connections. Hillary also seems connected, but not to people like me. She seems connected to Goldman Sachs and many special interest groups.

You continued,

"America has been compromised so very badly in the last four administrations; that only a traumatic outcome could really be offered to set things straight."

I agree that this country has gone awry; but I don't see that any leader can "set things straight". The real problem isn't the leaders; it's everyone. We've all become arrogant and ungodly, and have gone every one of us to his own way.

You went on,

"A Trump administration, on the other hand is actually a harder sell to assuage the panicked peoples of the Constitution, since they are the ones who bear the brunt of any continued assault on Constitutionally embedded citizens"

I like your word "panicked"; because that seems to be the condition of the "Never Trump" movement. As for "bearing the brunt", I suppose you're right; because the Constitution was written mainly to protect the rights of the middle and upper classes. Those classes include me, by the way; but I'm not panicked. Obama has been making a mockery of the Constitution; and Hillary promises to continue the process. With that as the alternative, I'm not afraid of Donald Trump.

You went on,

"American politics may be decided in ways that American politics no longer have any control over. Wasn't that the point of the Cairo 2009 speech; of the Arab uprising; of Syria and Benghazi?"

You're spot on there: The world is spinning out of control. Only Antichrist will be able to make it seem like he's on top of things; but we know what his outcome will be. I think he might be our 46th President, elected in 2020.
