I very much agree with you; and I pray that Daniel will ... address the election issue calmly and soberly.

In Daniel's defense, I suppose there are grounds for fears by some people -- some fears concerning Trump, but many more concerning Clinton.

Many readers here are Jewish; and there is some justification for Jews to FEAR a recurrence of what happened in German-occupied lands in the 1940s. I am not Jewish; but I have lost relatives at Auschwitz -- both Jewish and non-Jewish relatives -- and I am sensible of the fact that what happened in Germany in the 1930s, when THAT country had been humiliated under the Weimar leaders like we have been humiliated under Obama, hankered for a leader that could provide them with a convenient scapegoat and promise a return to greatness. Germany chose a demagogue, literally

Donald Trump certainly fits that mould; but that doesn't make him a Hitler or Mussolini. Franklin Roosevelt was also a demagogue; but he steered his country in a quite different direction. The Democrats, on the other hand, closely resemble the Weimar politicians and Britain's Neville Chamberlain -- who were as responsible for World War II as was Hitler.

Fear will not protect the Jewish people from what happened back then. The surest protection of the Jewish people is the Word of God, and those -- such as many Donald Trump supporters and very few Clinton supporters -- who trust in that word; and for that reason support Israel. If the support of those people is somehow thwarted, Israel must rely on God alone, to provide supernatural help. As the 1930s and 1940s have shown, there is no support for the Jewish people living outside Israel. In those days, even America's Roosevelt abandoned the Jews of Europe, consigning them to certain death. The fate of the Jews is with Israel, and they must never forget this. American politics cannot save them.
