Biggest defenders of Muslim womens "right" to wear Burkha are ...Reader comment on item: ISIS Imposes a Partial Ban on Burqas Submitted by Prashant (United States), Sep 7, 2016 at 07:59 Dear Dr Pipes, Regarding your reader Ifthikhar Ahmad's long letter about Muslim women's right to wear burkha, for some strange and unknown reason the biggest defenders of Muslim women's rights to wear burkha are Muslim men. These Muslim men will do very little to defend women's right to not become a second or third or fourth wife. Nor will they speak against their right to not be subject to a hasty divorce via triple-talaq. Nor would they defend their rights to marry "men of the book" or "men who are not of the book" if they choose to. And, of course, they will not defend their right NOT to wear a burkha if the outside temperature is 110 degrees and it is unbearably hot. Or when the outside temperature is a cool 68 degree and a pleasant wind is blowing. Such is our life!
