But the fact remains that there was a nationwide manhunt, hw going to be caught anyway - and the realisation of the pro-Syrian refugee kudos obtained from handing in an ISIS member (who most Syrians are not overly fond of ) - was not lost to them, probably the first thing to come to their minds.

So how altruistic do you really think it was?
