Just this month, there was the story of Yasmin Seweid who claimed that 3 drunk young men harassed and menaced her on a NYC subway -- and that nobody tried to help her. A few months ago, a woman in Muslim dress was attacked in midtown Manhattan. A man apparently used a lighter to set her clothing on fire. Lots of outcry about hate crimes and Islamophobia here in NYC. Sadly, there *are* actual hate crimes taking place and these hoaxers undermine actual victims.

Interesting that we hear mostly about anti-Muslim activity, when it turns out that Jews have been the target of more than half of the hate crimes reported in a recent period of time "According to police statistics, hate crimes in the city more than doubled last month — with more than 43 cases, compared with just 20 in November 2015.
