Expect more conversions to Islam in the aftermath of Trump's electionReader comment on item: Westerners in Trouble Who Convert to Islam Submitted by Pfrashant (United States), Feb 20, 2017 at 21:00 Dear Dr Pipes, It was widely reported that more people converted to Islam in the immediate aftermath of the 911 attack. I expect a new wave of conversion to Islam in the aftermath of Trump's winning the US presidential elections. Human mind is fragile and in tough times, people tend to take extreme steps. Plus, whenever major world event related to Islam take place, Islam gets free advertising. 911 should have brought negative publicity to Islam but instead it brought positive advertising. This time around Muslims are painting themselves as the victims and are getting major advertisement in the aftermath of Trump's election. One year from today, get ready for some fresh statistics on this issue. I would still say the biggest need of our time is freedom of though and secular democracy in the Islamic world.
