Apologists of islam v Scholars that are skeptical about the veracity of the Islamic Historical TraditionReader comment on item: A Return to the Academy Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Apr 5, 2017 at 11:34 Dr Pipes Yes indeed the study of Islam and in particular early Islam has changed dramatically in the past 25 years Now scholars the likes of Christoph Luxenberg and Ibn Warraq do not publish under their real names because it is not safe anymore to be critical of Islam and in the meantime work by apologists of Islam is published and celebrated It is also shocking and alarming that the strange expression like "Islamophobia" is being used in what is supposed to be scholarly work I wonder would John Wansbrough have been able to get funds write and publish his work on early Islam that changed the way we see the history of early Islam? I doubt it very much that we will be able to see such skeptical work about early Islam anymore Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
