Trump strengthened two important axisReader comment on item: Trump's Saudi Speech: Pretty Good Submitted by Anon (Israel), May 26, 2017 at 21:34 On the one hand, that of sunni countries over Iran+Syria+Hizbollah. On the other hand, strengthening the Israeli, Saudi, Egyptian axis (whereas when Israel eas attacked by Hamas in 2014, Obama and Kerry tried to weaken this and strengthen the Qatar + Turkey axis). Israel has little reason to fear from this terrific arms deal, which may help cement America's resolve to stop Iran. Moreover, Israel will probably get something to strengthen its army and to maintain its edge. It's difficult to envisage the Saudis trying to attack Israel. Perhaps 20 years from now things will take a turn for the worst, but by then the weapons will be oudated, and for the time being, this is the best possible scenario, which will also make Iran realise it has a lot to lose if it tries to worry the Saudis. It also helps create a strong-horse effect around Saudi Arabia and a weak-horse effect around Iran, which could matter in international relations.
