Another hypocrite is becoming popularReader comment on item: Popping Linda Sarsour's Balloon Submitted by Prashant, Jun 3, 2017 at 12:08 Dear Dr Pipes, The hypocrisy of Islamic apologists is very well known. Their modus operandi is extremely simple: They say and repeat ad infinitum the right things when they support the Islamic cause but do not say the same right things when they go against Islam. They will speak till the hell freezes about how important is democracy for USA/UK/India but they will not utter the first word when it comes to democracy in the Islamic countries. They will never acknowledge that 100% of the political agenda proposed in Quran is in direct contradiction to the democratic principles (need I give examples?). The problem with some of the modern Islamic hypocrites is that they are not only hypocrites but also they are extremely vocal. You popped the balloon of our illustrious Linda Sarsour in the above blog. Reza Aslan is the latest apologist in the tradition of Linda Sarsour and dear Reza is gaining popularity and media band-width. In one of his tweets Mr Aslan recently criticized President Trump for mistakenly assuming that Manila robbery was an act of terrorism. He also criticized Trump for not identifying the incidence in Oregon in which two ordinary non-Muslim citizens were killed by a non-Muslim harasser of a Muslim woman in Oregon public transport system. If a Muslim is murdered in Cairo defending a random non-Muslim woman, I will not call it an act of terrorism but Mr Aslan is trying to desperately reach and call the Oregon incidence an act of terrorism. Little bit of subterfuge for the sake of Islam is acceptable. Isn't it? And, obviously, Mr Aslan had nothing to say about the killings in London, Alexandria and Kabul during or near the month of Ramadan. And, Mr Aslan is on record for defending the shameful Cordoba Initiative for the interfaith dialog (how about some interfaith-dialog in Mecca, Sir?) and who cares if there is no democracy anywhere in the green-belt that runs from Rabat and Islamabad. We need to expose the Islamists everywhere we find them and tell the truth about them. The biggest need of our time is to bring an attitude of openness and democracy to Islam.
