USA – playing for the mullahs!Reader comment on item: Symposium: The Showdown [with Iran] Submitted by John M (Spain), Aug 1, 2005 at 19:47 The true depth of the incompetence of the USA now comes to light.Sadham Hussein – the Joseph Stalin of the Middle East controlled Iraq with an Iron hand. He was a totalitarian leader with no tolerance of Islamic radicalism. The USA decided to invade Iraq, get rid of Saddam and replace it with – guess what? – An Islamic Republic dominated by the Shias with the eventual link up with Iran to create an Islamic nuclear-armed super power not out width the bounds of reality. What a nightmare scenario and the USA have played straight into the hands of the mullahs. If this is the best strategy that our leaders can come up with then god save us as the Islamists seem to be streets ahead of us.
