Response to AsimReader comment on item: Symposium: The Showdown [with Iran] Submitted by No dhimmi (United States), Aug 8, 2005 at 00:34 Asim,"You wonder why there are bombings in the West when people... advocate regime change and force countries to "engage in attrition". What country (ies) is being forced into attrition by the West.....Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia? Iraq, yes, but wasn't Saddam's regime one of the "oppressive" type of regimes in the middle east that the Islamists talk about? Does your objection apply to the Islamists who are trying to destabilize Iraq so they can impose their form of Islam? Does it apply to the Taliban? "Thats why they hate the west- for the way they are treated. You harm them they will no doubt find ways of harming you." If the West left the middle east and if the Palestinian-Isreali conflict was resolved, the bombings and other acts of terrorism would not cease. The real reason is restore Islam as a world force, the restoration of the Caliphate, world domination, and sharia as the only rule of law. "The Iranians if treated like equals like they ought to be, would be no hinderance to the West." Why should the US treat Iranians like equals when our Embassy staff was held hostage; US citizens held hostage in Beirut; death to America is a constant rant in demonstrations; and the new President says that Islam will rule every mountain. In addition, it has consistently lied to the IAEC. It is styming negotiations with the Europeans on it's nuclear energy activties. What reason does the United States have to trust the Iranian regime?
