What will happen after Israeli victory?Reader comment on item: Achieving Peace Through Israeli Victory Submitted by Prashant, Jul 21, 2018 at 22:11 Dear Dr Pipes, Israeli victory is not a bad idea. We should certainly hope that it can be achieved and Palestinians accept their defeat. But we should also ponder what will happen after this goal is achieved. What will the defeated Palestinians do? Will they drop their enmity against Jews and other infidels? May be they will decide to just settle in UAE, Jordan, Syria, KSA and Egypt, Europe and USA and leave Israel alone. That is all very nice if it happens. And when this happens, Israel can breath some fresh air and can plan to become a more prosperous and more democratic nation. But then what will happen? Then more jobs will be created in Israel. And more people will be more educated. And, sure enough, more people from the dictatorships and theocracies around Israel such as Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Yemen will start immigrating into Israel to enjoy the freedoms brought by the Israeli democracy and prosperity brought by Israeli jobs. Then they will make Muslim-only ghettos as they have made in Paris, and Mumbai, and London. And they will demand that they do not have enough rights and are discriminated against. They might even demand that Israel should recognize Sharia laws and Sharia-courts because Allah (pbuh) instructed so (they just demanded it in India). Then, Israel will again be in trouble and Amnesty International will investigate Israel for human right violations. And the life will continue just the same way as it is continuing today. So an Israeli victory in the current war is good but is not the panacea. The panacea will be to make sure that democracy creeps in every Muslim mind and every Muslim society. For that purpose, we have to either change Muslims or change Islam. One or the other. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
